Our Commitment
At NASS UNION CONTRACTING CO., we are committed to conducting all our activities in a manner that protects the health and safety of our employees, clients, contractors, visitors, the public, and the environment.
We recognize that every work-related incident, injury, occupational illness, environmental impact, and process safety event is preventable through effective planning, competent execution, strong leadership, and continuous improvement.
HSE is therefore a core business value and an integral part of every decision and activity undertaken by the Company.
Our HSE Principles
NASS UNION CONTRACTING CO. is committed to:
Protecting people by providing safe and healthy working conditions and preventing work-related injuries and ill health.
Identifying hazards and managing risks through systematic hazard identification, risk assessment, and effective implementation of control measures.
Applying the Hierarchy of Controls to eliminate hazards and reduce risks to an acceptable level.
Preventing major accidents and process safety incidents, including fires, explosions, toxic releases, and loss of containment where applicable to our activities.
Complying with applicable laws, regulations, client requirements, standards, and contractual HSE obligations.
Providing competent personnel, appropriate resources, training, and supervision necessary to perform work safely.
Maintaining a strong safety culture in which every employee has the authority and responsibility to intervene and Stop Work when an unsafe condition or act is identified.
Implementing effective Permit-to-Work, LOTO, isolation, and safe-work systems for hazardous activities.
Ensuring proper management of contractors and subcontractors, including competency, supervision, and compliance with Company and client HSE requirements.
Protecting the environment through pollution prevention, responsible waste management, spill prevention, efficient resource utilization, and minimization of environmental impacts.
Preparing for emergencies through effective emergency response plans, communication, training, and regular drills.
Reporting and investigating incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
Promoting employee consultation and participation in HSE matters and encouraging open reporting without fear of retaliation.
Managing changes safely by assessing HSE risks associated with changes to people, processes, equipment, materials, and working conditions.
Continually improving our HSE performance through inspections, audits, performance monitoring, lessons learned, corrective actions, and management review.
Leadership & Accountability
Management shall provide the leadership, resources, and support required to implement this policy effectively. Managers and supervisors are responsible for demonstrating visible HSE leadership and ensuring that work is properly planned, controlled, and executed.
Every employee, contractor, and visitor is responsible for complying with applicable HSE requirements, taking reasonable care of themselves and others, reporting hazards, and stopping work when necessary.
No schedule, cost, production target, or commercial objective shall take precedence over the protection of people, the environment, and the integrity of our operations.
